In Vitro and Ex Vivo Permeability Study
MB Biosciences provide a number of in vitro permeability assay services to determine intestinal, blood-brain barrier (BBB) penetration or vascular permeability. Our scientists are experts in the permeability cell monolayer models; a combination of experience and rigorous cell biology QC processes assures high stability of cell barrier and maintains full cell functionality for your studies. We deliver consistent, high quality data with a fast turnaround time.

We use transporter silenced Caco2 (such as BCRP or MDR1) permeability system to determine whether active transport is mediated through a particular transporter, such as BCRP or MDR1.
2. Ex Vivo Intestinal Permeability Assays
MB Biosciences offers an Ex vivo permeability assays using intestinal sacs to measure overall intestinal integrity and comparative transport of a specific molecule. The intestinal sacs for permeability studies will provide a method to calculate the apparent permeability (Papp) of a molecule across the intestinal barrier or to examine regional epithelial barrier dysfunction using fluorescent-labeled dextrans
3. Vascular Permeability Assays
We provide an efficient HUVEC permeability system for evaluating the effects of compounds on endothelial cell permeability.
4. In vitro Monolayer Barrier Model Services
We provide a set of monolayer barrier permeability systems that can be time saving and cost-effective for your oral absorption, bioavailability evaluation, drug transporter and Drug-Drug interaction studies.
The Cell-based in vitro Permeability System includes:
Caco-2 Epithelial Monolayer Barrier
P-gp overexpressed Caco2 epithelial monolayer barrier
Transporter silenced Caco2 (BCRP, MDR1) epithelial monolayer barrier
MDCK/MDR1 monolayer barrier
Intestinal epithelial tight junction barrier (T84; HT29;Caco-2 and HCT116)
Mucus-producing intestinal epithelial monolayer barrier ( HT29- MTX)
Rat brain capillary endothelial cells (RBECs) monolayer
Kidney proximal tubule cell monolayer
The cell seeding to allow for complete monolayer formation and cell differentiation. Prior to delivery to your laboratory, the integrity of cell monolayers are verified by transepithelial electrical resistance (TEER) measurements.
